With a streaming performance score of 89,8%, England ranks 6th in nPerf’s Top 20 fixed-line streaming performances among countries taking part in the 2026 international football tournament. The study, based on data collected from January to May 2026, does not rank every participating country: it focuses only on the twenty strongest streaming results observed in the panel. The index reflects how well fixed connections can play videos in 720p, 1080p and 2160p smoothly.
England’s position in a tightly packed Top 20
England is measured against the leading trio — United States, Switzerland and France — and against the countries closest to it in the ranking. The position reflects performance inside a selected Top 20, not a ranking of all tournament nations.
For everyday users, a score of 89,8% generally points to a comfortable video experience. The difference with the very top becomes more visible for demanding content such as 4K video, live sports streams or peak-hour viewing.
Streaming quality highlights the real user experience on fixed networks
Across this Top 20, the gap between the United States in first place and Saudi Arabia in 20th place is only 10,6 points. The field is relatively close, but the leading countries stand out through a more consistent experience.
The ranking also shows that speed alone does not tell the whole story. Latency, stability, network capacity, interconnection quality and CDN proximity all help shape the final streaming experience.
