A police officer has been dismissed after being found guilty of making inappropriate comments and touching five female colleagues.
PC Fraser Walsham’s misconduct occurred between September 2024 and February 2025. Following a five-day hearing by Essex Police, eleven allegations against him were proven, leading to his sacking from the force.
Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Nolan said Walsham’s behaviour “fell way below” the standards expected of officers. The misconduct was described as “persistent” and included sending inappropriate messages to colleagues.
The hearing in Chelmsford concluded that Walsham had committed gross misconduct. Ms Nolan emphasised the importance of a safe workplace, stating: “No-one should go to work and feel harassed, and working for the police is no different. His actions are particularly unacceptable when considering the force’s commitment to protecting women and girls.”
She also praised the complainants for coming forward and reporting the officer, underlining the force’s support for victims of harassment within its ranks.
