CHUMS Charity has been awarded £1,000 after being announced as the winner of the Barton-le-Clay community chest competition run by Taylor Wimpey.
The charity supports children, young people, adults and families with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Its services cover trauma, bereavement, recreational therapy, and a disability friendship scheme.
The community surrounding the housebuilder’s brand-new Barton-le-Clay developments, The Vista and Clayridge Park at Barton Grange, was invited to nominate local good causes to receive a donation. Once all of the entries were considered, Taylor Wimpey awarded CHUMS Charity with the top prize.
Sue Clarke, Head of Income Generation at CHUMS Charity, said: “CHUMS Charity is thrilled to have been chosen to receive Taylor Wimpey’s £1,000 community chest donation for the Barton-le-Clay area. We will be using the money across all six of our charity-funded mental health and emotional wellbeing services so that local people can benefit from our broad offer straight away. Thank you so much to Taylor Wimpey for this valuable support for our local community.”
Jason Turner, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: “We are proud to support CHUMS Charity with our £1,000 donation. Services provided by charities such as CHUMS ensure that people within the community can find the support they need when going through a difficult time, and we hope that our donation allows them to continue providing this vital service.”
