KGM Motors UK, formerly SsangYong, is delighted to announce that the Musso Rhino has been named Editor’s Choice for diesel double-cab pick-up in Diesel & EcoCar’s annual Diesel Top 40, recognising its combination of serious working capability, generous equipment and outstanding value.
The latest accolade builds on an established record of recognition from the publication, with Musso previously winning Best Pick-up in the Diesel Car Top 50 in 2020 and 2021, followed by a Diesel Pick-up shortlist appearance in 2024. The latest-generation Musso Rhino and Rhino+ carry that award-winning heritage forward, building on the strengths that have made Musso a trusted choice for business users, rural customers and leisure drivers.
Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher of Diesel & EcoCar, said “The Musso proves a pick-up needn’t break the bank to deliver serious capability. Its 2.2-litre diesel engine produces 199bhp and can tow up to 3,500kg, offering genuine muscle for work or leisure.
“A pleasing interior feels notably more upmarket than most rivals, while KGM’s generous five year warranty adds real peace of mind. Well-equipped and hard-working, it’s our Editor’s Choice for diesel double cab pick-up.”
The next-generation Musso Rhino also makes a strong visual statement, with a redesigned front end, bold grille and distinctive LED lighting creating a more commanding presence. Sculpted wheel arches, 18-inch brushed chrome alloy wheels and signature Rhino graphics reinforce its rugged character, while black side steps, roof rails and an embossed KGM tailgate complete the purposeful look.
Purpose-built for demanding working environments, the Musso Rhino combines a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine producing 202 PS and 400 Nm of torque coupled to an Aisin six-speed automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel drive with low range. A locking differential, hill start assist and hill descent control support its off-road capability, helping drivers negotiate challenging terrain with confidence.
Both Rhino and Rhino+ offer a 3,500kg braked towing capacity, with payloads of 1,090kg and 1,200kg respectively. The longer-wheelbase Rhino+ also provides a 1,610mm load bed with 1,262 litres of cargo space, giving customers additional flexibility for tools, equipment and materials. Load bed lighting, a protective liner, tie-down hooks and rear bumper corner steps add practical benefits for everyday use.
That working strength is complemented by an SUV-inspired cabin with premium nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and dual-zone climate control. Dual 12.3-inch displays, TomTom navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging and a 360-degree camera system provide a comprehensive specification designed to make long working days and weekend journeys more comfortable and convenient.
Kevin Griffin, Managing Director at KGM Motors UK, said “We are extremely proud to see the Musso recognised as Editor’s Choice in Diesel & EcoCar’s Diesel Top 40. The Musso has developed a strong reputation for delivering the capability and dependability expected from a pick-up, alongside excellent comfort, equipment and value. This award is a fantastic endorsement of the Musso and a reflection of the hard work of everyone across KGM and our nationwide dealer network.”
The Musso Rhino is priced from £38,995 excluding VAT, with the longer-wheelbase Rhino+ available from £39,995 excluding VAT. Both models come with KGM’s five-year or 100,000-mile warranty.
