Aversley Grange, located on the edge of the village, will feature a high-quality collection of 138 two, three and four bedroom homes, designed to blend modern comfort with countryside living. Up to 85 of the homes will be available via open market sale and at least 53 will be affordable homes, providing more accessible routes onto the property ladder.

Councillor Peter McDonald recently visited Aversley Grange, where he met with the Allison Homes Central team, learnt about the development’s future plans and cut the ribbon to officially open the four bedroom The Eltham show home.

The wider Sawtry development is being delivered in partnership with Taylor Wimpey and will bring a total of 340 new homes and over £5.6 million of investment to the local area. In addition, land will be provided to Cambridgeshire County Council for the construction of a new primary school and over 4.5 hectares of public open space will be provided, including a play area and allotments.

Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council, Councillor Peter McDonald, said: “I’m delighted to join Allison Homes in celebrating this important milestone for Sawtry. This development represents a significant investment in our community, and I’m proud that Cambridgeshire County Council will be supporting a project that delivers longterm benefits for residents.

“The new primary school, the public open space, play areas and allotments, are all being supported by developer contributions and will provide opportunities for families to grow, learn, and thrive for generations to come.

“As a council, our vision is to build a healthy, fair, and sustainable Cambridgeshire, and it is incredibly encouraging to see that vision taking shape here in Sawtry. Developments like this show what can be achieved when councils and developers work in partnership for the longterm good of our communities.”

A show home launch event was then hosted for prospective buyers on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June to great success, with attendees stepping inside The Eltham show home for the first time.

Following the official opening of Aversley Grange, interested property seekers are now invited to visit the development, meet with the sales team to hear about the available homes and homebuying schemes, and tour The Eltham show home themselves.

Adam Knight, Managing Director at Allison Homes Central, said: “Aversley Grange is a very exciting new development for us and we’re incredibly proud to have opened the doors to our new show home. It was a real pleasure to have the Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council, Councillor Peter McDonald, celebrate this milestone with us and for us to demonstrate to him the passion we have for our craft, building new high-quality homes and creating vibrant communities for local people.

“The homes at Aversley Grange have been thoughtfully designed with spacious interiors and attractive exteriors, in keeping with the local architecture. Now The Eltham show home is officially open, we’re looking forward to welcoming homeseekers to Aversley Grange and watching the development come to life.”

Situated between Huntingdon and Peterborough, Aversley Grange offers residents the opportunity to enjoy village living while remaining well connected to surrounding towns and cities. Sawtry itself benefits from a range of everyday amenities, including shops, a pharmacy, GP surgery, leisure centre, library and local pubs.

For those who enjoy spending time outdoors, Aversley Wood and Monks Wood National Nature Reserve are both nearby, while Hinchingbrooke Country Park and Grafham Water offer further opportunities for walking, cycling and water sports.

The development is also ideally placed for commuters, with easy access to the A1(M) and A14. Huntingdon railway station is located nearby and provides direct services to London King’s Cross in around 50 minutes.
